Ernest Koeppen and Denise in La Cañada Flintridge

Ernest Koeppen is a La Cañada Flintridge Planning Commissioner, Kiwanis member, local business owner, technologist, husband, father of two, homeowner, and longtime community volunteer.

He is running for City Council as a write-in candidate because he believes residents deserve another choice — one rooted in practical experience, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and love for La Cañada Flintridge.

Ernest is not a career politician. His political aspirations start and end at 91011.

For more than 25 years, Ernest has worked in entertainment administration and production management, where he has managed large budgets, complex operations, tight timelines, and strong personalities. That experience taught him how to solve problems, manage competing priorities, and deliver results without drama.

In La Cañada Flintridge, Ernest has served as president of the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association, helping lead the city's beloved volunteer-built Rose Parade float program. Under his leadership, the organization received major recognition, including two innovation awards and one state award. He also helped pursue creative funding opportunities, including AQMD support for the LCFTRA electric vehicle float platform.

Ernest and his wife, Denise, are raising their two children in La Cañada Flintridge. As a homeowner, parent, volunteer, business owner, and neighbor, Ernest understands the decisions facing local families because he lives them too.

"I am not a politician, and I do not have political aspirations beyond serving this community. My political aspirations start and end at 91011. I am simply one of you — a husband, father, homeowner, volunteer, and neighbor who wants to help keep La Cañada Flintridge the special place we all chose to call home."
